Our aim at Bowburn Guardian Angels nursery is to provide a happy, safe, warm and stimulating environment to enhance learning opportunities for every child.

Well-trained and experienced staff help and encourage your child to learn and develop their skills from 3 months to 11 years old across our five designated units; Baby, Toddler, Tweeny, Pre-school and After School/Holiday Club. Each unit caters for the individual development of those age groups:

• Our Baby Unit caters for children aged between 3 and 12 months. With one staff member per three children, this self-contained unit features sleep and feeding facilities enabling constant care in a safe and hygienic environment. Babies are encouraged to enjoy floor-play and sensory experiences such as exploration and tactility.

• Our Toddler Unit is designed for children aged between 1 and 2 years and has a staff/child ratio of one to three. The unit is divided into specific areas to encourage varied developmental areas such as discovery, sensory and role-play.

• Our Tweeny Unit provides for children aged between 2 and 3 years and has a staff/child ratio of one to four. With several designated areas, the unit is able to develop minds through creativity, manipulation, reading and construction – each area extends your child’s knowledge through discovery.

• Our Pre-school Unit provides a broad curriculum based on DfES Foundation Stage Guidance for children aged between 3 and 5 years. Each child is monitored and assessed from the Flying Start 2 Programme. The staff/child ratio of one to eight allows for the intensive development needed before starting school.

Children within this unit often take part in outings and trips to develop their learning through to the outside world – farms, zoos and museums are amongst the favourites.

• The After School and Holiday Clubs give parents piece of mind. Children have access to a wide variety of activities to continuously expand their brainpower from musical instruments and computers to creative activities and board games.

Parents/Guardians
At Bowburn Guardian Angels nursery we have great relationships with all of our parents and carers. You are encouraged to use our Parents’ Room to relax and chat to other parents/carers at your leisure where tea and coffee facilities are always available.

Each child has a key worker who completes a progression report and development record which is shared with you at regular intervals to allow further development to take place at home.

Meal Times
We provide a well-balanced diet for all the children. Prepared on-site, the meals are made with fresh produce and we cater for breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, mid-afternoon snack and a light tea.

Baby meals are agreed between you and our staff in order to create a suitable diet for your child. We encourage interaction during meal times and all children eat together with staff in our dining area.
